Tenerife training trip – 1-4 and instructor – November

Hi all!
Just wanted to let you know we are running a Freediving training trip in the Canaries from the 15th – 22nd November. Please see details below, we have a few spaces left so if you interested just get in touch!
This trip will be held from the 15th of November to the 22nd of November 2019 on the Spanish island of Tenerife.
Tenerife is probably known in equal measure for its incredible natural beauty and its vibrant nightlife, but what perhaps it isn’t as famous for is its varied and rich marine environment, and specifically, excellent freediving!
Being a volcanic archipelago, the Canaries appear out of the Atlantic at a latitude that allows for fantastic marine life with clear and seemingly endlessly deep water (over 1/2 a km deep just 500m from the shore!).
On this trip, join the FreediveUK team in the next level of your training, with the opportunity to achieve your AIDA level 1,2,3,4 or instructor certification. If you don’t want to work towards certification, that’s fine, as general training will be on offer to anyone who wants it too.
General training with no certification – £400
AIDA level 1&2 – £400
AIDA level 3 – £500
AIDA level 4 – £550
AIDA instructor – £1000 (instructor candidates will arrive on the 14th).
Training will be held on the sheltered east coast in and around the town of Radazul, where (thanks to the team at Apnea Canarias) we will have access to a warm indoor pool for statics, a 25m outdoor pool for dynamics, classroom space for theory and a studio for stretching and breathing training.
Depth work will be conducted on professionally set up dive lines with a maximum of 4 students per instructor.
Beyond the dive training itself, we will have plenty of opportunities to explore the coast and have plenty of ‘fun’ dives.
Equipment can be provided for all those that need it, although we can’t bring wetsuits due to the size variations and weight. Wetsuits can be rented there for 10 euros per person per day. Please note that students doing their AIDA 4 or Instructors should really have all their own equipment. We are currently looking into hiring lead out there so will confirm this once we know.
We will not be providing accommodation directly on this trip as there isn’t a single residence, in the area, that we can rent which can accommodate our numbers to the standard that we require. Therefore we will instead be suggesting an area and a selection of options that you may want to consider. This gives you the flexibility to keep within a budget, share with other students or stay with family. To all those that place a deposit or pay in full for the training, we will add to a WhatsApp group (with your permission) so that you can discuss accommodation options or discuss sharing apartments etc.
As we won’t all be staying in the same place we will ensure that we arrange somewhere to meet to socialise, eat and drink so that if you are traveling on your own you can still enjoy the group dynamics of a fun and relaxed FreediveUK trip!
We will be staying in the town of Radazul. The freediving center is by the port, which is clearly visible on Google maps, https://goo.gl/maps/4DWycQNBXDVJkpgu8.
There are lots of apartments in the town itself which can be found on Airbnb, if you want to stay in a hotel then you may have to go a little further afield, but it’s well connected and the town of Santa Cruz is just up the road.
Below are some links to some ideas of suitable accommodation, the instructors will be staying in a nearby apartment.
Transfers and transport
We will rent suitable vehicles to transport our group wherever we may need to go, and this will all be included in your training costs. Transfers from the airport will be possible but we ask you to get the following flight (or at least one that arrives at a similar time) in order to take this offer, as the journey to the airport is 45 minutes each way so we cant make it multiple times in the day.
Arriving 15th
13:00 (departing London) – 17:30 (Arriving Tenerife)
Departing 22nd
11:20 (Departing Tenerife) – 15:35 (Arriving London).
Please don’t go booking any flights until you have confirmed your space!
You may want to hire your own car as its a very beautiful island, so as to better explore its dramatic landscape.
If you would like to go ahead with this training holiday then please email us at info@freediveuk.com and we will send you an invoice for the full training amount or for a 50% deposit (full payment will be required 1 month from the start date). Spaces are limited and the demand has been high so please don’t hesitate too much, to avoid disappointment.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Ian, Emily, and all the team.
